• Move in / outAlien Registration Certificate of Registered Matters is now the Residence Record

Identification for those who had performed Alien Registration has changed to the Copy of Residence Record as of July 9th, 2012. A Copy of Residence Record can be issued when you require evidence of your address, etc. (only for contents as of or later than July 9th, 2012 – for more details, see below)

  • Your name (or common name), sex, date of birth, and address will be listed. In addition, your designation as Special Permanent Resident or Medium to Long-Term Resident, status of residence and/or period of stay,
  • Special Permanent Resident Card/Residence Card number may also be certified upon request.
    Requests can also be made to certify only certain members of the household.

〈Application Location〉

For those who have completed Resident Registration within the City of Kobe, certificates can be issued at a Kobe City Ward or Branch Office Citizen Service Division, Branch Office, or Service Corner.

〈Necessary Items〉

  • Residence Card, Special Permanent Resident Card, Drivers License, or other form of personal identification. In the event that a proxy will apply, a letter of attorney is also required.
  • Fee: ¥300 per copy

*CAUTION*

Previous addresses and family matters prior to July 9th, 2012 will not be listed on a Copy of Residence Record.
In the event that an Alien Registration Certificate of Registered Matters is required, you will be required to request a release of personal information from the Ministry of Justice Secretarial Division Personal Information Section.
An Alien Registration Certificate of Registered Matters for a deceased individual must be requested from the Ministry of Justice Immigration Bureau. For more information, please refer to the MOJ website.
