【Alert】Beware of Scams Impersonating Foreign Resident Consultation Staff at Local Government Offices and Other Organizations

There have been cases in which individuals have impersonated consultation staff at local government offices and other organizations that provide consultation services for foreign residents, and have requested money or other valuables through social networking services (SNS) and other means.

Consultation staff will never ask you for money, gift cards, or other valuables as part of a consultation.

Please be very careful.

 

Please be alert to the following types of messages or requests:

• - Someone claiming to be a consultation staff at local government offices and other organizations asks you for money or other valuables.
• - Someone asks you to send money privately via social media, email, phone, etc.
• - Someone asks you to access a suspicious link or provide information such as your bank account or credit card details.
